If you submit your app for review on time, it will usually be approved within 24 hours. However, this is not always the case and sometimes the approval process takes longer than expected.

- For those who are not familiar with App Store review, there are two stages: Waiting for Review and In Review.
When you submit an update, the app immediately goes into the Waiting for Review stage, which is typically the longer of the two stages. Waiting for Review just means that your app is waiting in the queue for a reviewer to look at it. When a reviewer starts to look at the app, it enters the stage In Review.

- The stage Pending Developer Release means that it’s been accepted, and the developer can release the update in the App Store whenever they want.) My Mac App Store update spent 3.5 hours In Review and is now Pending Developer Release.
- My identical iOS App Store update has been In Review over 44 hours and counting.
Again for those who are not familiar with App Store review, there’s actually no way for a developer to contact the reviewer while the app is In Review. You can contact the reviewer in App Store Connect after your app has been rejected, but not before it’s been rejected.
You can contact the App Review Team to get a status update, which I did, but this is largely pointless, because you only get a totally uninformative canned response form letter: Thank you for contacting App Store Review about your app’s status. Your app, “Tweaks for Twitter Mobile,” is in review as of May 27.

- In my 5 years as an indie developer in the App Store, I’ve submitted over 200 app updates, and before now the longest that an update has ever spent In Review was 13.5 hours.
Most app reviews have been much shorter than 13.5 hours, sometimes only a few minutes. So the current situation is unprecedented for me. Three aspects of this situation frustrate me. First, as always, the lack of communication from Apple. Their lack of communication with developers is a constant source of developer discontent with Apple.
- Second, the insane inconsistency of App Store review.
- In this case, my Mac App Store update was accepted in 3.5 hours, and my iOS App Store update is the same as my Mac App Store update, so what exactly is the problem? Third, Apple claimed that they wouldn’t hold up bug fixes for unrelated issues: for apps that are already on the App Store, bug fixes will no longer be delayed over guideline violations except for those related to legal issues.
Developers will instead be able to address the issue in their next submission. This claim does not appear to be true. I’ve heard from a number of other developers who have said that their bug fix updates still get held up over other issues. Some people will say, “This is the first problem you’ve had in 5 years, so why are you complaining?” But that’s not true.
- I’ve had many problems with App Store development over the years.
- It’s the first time I’ve had this specific problem of being “In Review” indefinitely, but my overall experience with Apple development cannot be characterized as free of problems.
- Apple keeps “innovating” new and different problems to throw at its third-party developers.

What is waiting for review in App Store Connect?
Waiting for review means that apple team will review your app before allowing you to submit on TestFlight for public testing. It will take around 24~48 hours for them to review your app. After if your app is approved, you can submit on TestFlight and create public link for anyone with the link as tester.

Do App Store reviews reset?
Ratings – Users can rate your app on a scale of one to five stars. Individual ratings inform your app’s summary rating, which is displayed on your product page and in search results. This summary rating is specific to each territory on the App Store and you can reset it when you release a new version of your app.
However, we recommend using this feature sparingly. While resetting the summary rating can ensure that it reflects the most current version of your app — which can be useful if an update addresses users’ previous concerns — having few ratings may discourage potential users from downloading your app. In addition, keep in mind that resetting your summary rating won’t reset your app’s written reviews.
Users can rate iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS apps on the appʼs product page on their device, and they can rate watchOS apps on the appʼs product page on their iOS device.
Does Apple remove reviews?
Apple pulls all customer reviews from online Apple Store On November 17, Apple removed the “Ratings & Reviews” section from all product pages on the Apple website. It is currently unclear what has prompted this decision, nor when Apple will bring back the option to read the opinions of other customers at the time of purchase.
AppleInsider received a tip from a reader who had noted the buyer review section was missing on The user also pointed out that the pages have been removed from U.S., U.K., and Australian Apple online stores, which suggests this is not simply a mistake, but rather an intentional move on Apple’s behalf.
The reviews were pulled over the weekend, though it’s not clear as to why this has happened. Apple had been known for leaving up even especially negative reviews, which demonstrated both transparency and integrity to their customers. By removing the reviews, it’s possible that Apple will be seen as less credible to potential buyers.
Utilizing the Wayback Machine, AppleInsider found that the reviews were pulled at some point between the evening of November 16 and the morning of November 17. The image below shows a capture of the sections on November 16 and 17, highlighting the missing “Rating & Reviews” section. AppleInsider has contacted Apple for clarification over the feature’s removal, and if it would be making a return.
A YouTube video offered as part of the tip was published by the popular photography account, Fstoppers, titled “” In the video, the host reads a selection of negative reviews of the new with the video published on November 16, coinciding with the removal of the website feature.
- However, it remains to be seen if the video had anything to do with Apple’s decision to remove the reviews, given the 56 thousand page views at the time of publication doesn’t seem like a high-enough number for Apple to pay attention to the video’s content.
- Other videos have been more critical about the company’s products, and some with far higher view counts, but evidently Apple seemingly does not spend that much time involving itself with such public complaints.

What happens if an app gets 1 star on Play Store?
It will be removed from the app store search results – When you’ve created an app, it’s an exciting moment when your app is accepted in the app store and you get some positive reviews. Your dedication and work are getting paid off. You’re confident and eagerly anticipating your app’s entry to the global stage.
- However, afterward, you’ll receive one or two one-star reviews.
- So it’s okay for everyone.
- However, many developers have encountered this issue and need clarification when an app is given its first review of 1-star quality.
- There are ways to limit the harm that negative reviews can result in.
- To begin, you should request users who have given you a negative rating to change their review to improve your overall rating.
Another option is to send them an email asking them to provide more details about their complaint. This lets you have an extended and insightful discussion with them, as well as helps them understand why they were unable to resolve the issue. While this may appear excessive, it’s a great idea to do the most you can to enhance the user experience for your customers.
It’s only sometimes possible to provide every customer with the exact solution they’re seeking. So you may need to experiment with different strategies until you find the best way to enhance your day. In essence, the company is positioned as the place that distributes developers’ apps to users who do not have Google Play enabled devices available to them – many of these devices have SlideMe preloaded instead. They also offer custom distribution channels, they have no country restrictions across different Android device types and there is no setup fee for developers. 1Mobile is an alternative app store that provides a collection of mobile apps, games and videos. Multiple mobile formats are catered to on the website, but Google’s Android format features the largest library of applications. The apps are displayed in a variety of ways on the website: there is a “Games of the Week” feature at the top that lists the best new apps and games to appear on Google Play within the last week, an editor’s choice section where the editors list their favourite 50 games and apps, the top trends of recent times and more.

How long does it take to deploy an app on the Apple Store?
How long does it take to publish an application? – To publish your app, app owners need to create either Enterprise or Individual (Small Business) account. To maintain accounts on both stores, you need to pay a yearly fee. An account for apple costs $99, and an account for Google costs $25.
